Inch vs cm Cushion Sizing (US, UK & EU)

Custom seat cushion measured in inches or cm by Foamera

One inch equals 2.54 cm, so multiply inches by 2.54 to get centimetres, or divide centimetres by 2.54 to get inches. It doesn't matter which unit you know — the Foamera customizer has an inch/cm toggle, converts as you type and cuts your foam to either. Measure in the unit you're comfortable with; the chart below covers the common US, UK and EU sizes.

Cushion sizing units — answered

How do I convert inches to cm for a cushion?

Multiply the inches by 2.54 to get centimetres. For example, a 20-inch seat is 20 × 2.54 = 50.8 cm. To go the other way, divide centimetres by 2.54. The customizer does this automatically when you switch units.

Should I measure in inches or centimetres?

Whichever you're most comfortable with — the result is the same. US customers usually use inches, while UK and EU customers use centimetres. Just keep the whole measurement in one unit so you don't mix them up. Cutting is accurate to ±1 cm, and you can send a photo on WhatsApp if you want us to double-check.

Do UK and EU cushions use different standard sizes?

Common scatter-cushion sizes differ by region — the US often lists 18″ or 20″ pillows, while the UK and EU sell 45 cm or 50 cm. Because we cut to order, you don't need a standard size; enter your exact measurement in either unit.

What about fractions of an inch?

Enter them as decimals or fractions — ¼″ is about 0.6 cm, ½″ is about 1.3 cm and ¾″ is about 1.9 cm. For accuracy, convert your original measurement once rather than rounding twice.

Can Foamera cut to metric measurements and ship to me?

Yes. Toggle the customizer to centimetres, type your metric size, and we hand-cut the foam to it within about ±1 cm. Every order is made to order and shipped worldwide with free, tracked delivery, backed by a 14-day perfect-fit guarantee.
