Measuring

Ten minutes with a tape measure

We cut to exactly the numbers you send us — nothing is deducted, nothing rounded up. So they are worth taking slowly.

Hands stretching a tape measure along a church pew seat
1
Measure the pew it sits on A short chapel pew, a long sanctuary bench, a choir stall — measure the seat board the runner will sit on, so the foam fits the pew, not a guess.
Hands writing pew cushion measurements in a notebook with a tape measure alongside
2
Read it at both ends, write the smaller Older pews are rarely straight. Measure the length at the front edge and again at the back, then write down the smaller of the two so the runner still sits flush.

3
Odd shape? Send a photo A curved pew, a fixed kneeler in the way, a corner where two rows meet — send a photo and we'll tell you exactly which measurements we need from you.

Inside the cushion

One solid block never glued scraps

32 kg/m³

≈ 2.0 lb/ft³ — the density we cut every seat from

Cheap cushions are filled with shredded or re-bonded offcuts: firm in week one, sagging by month six. Yours is cut from a single high-density block.

Density is how long it lasts. Firmness is how it feels. We publish ours; most sellers don't.

What you'll choose at step 2

The configurator asks this after your measurements. Most seats want the first one.

Most chosen
Foam & cover The complete cushion: 32 kg/m³ core, sewn cover, zip. Pick this if you're starting from nothing or the old pad has gone flat.
Cover only
Keep your foam Your existing pad is still firm but the fabric is tired or stained. We sew a new cover to the foam you already have.
Foam only
Keep your cover The cover is fine, the seat has collapsed. We cut bare foam to size and you slip your own cover back on.

Before you order

Questions people actually ask

What does the 14-day fit guarantee cover?+

It covers our side of the job. We cut the foam to the measurements on your order exactly — nothing is deducted or rounded — and every order is checked by hand before it's cut. If what arrives doesn't match those numbers, send us a photo within 14 days of delivery and we cut you a new one, free. The window starts the day it reaches your door, not the day you order. If a pew was measured wrong, that isn't covered — but send a photo before you order and we'll help you get the numbers right.

Can you make one long runner for a full-length pew?+

Yes. We sew continuous single-piece runners for pews of any length, so there are no gaps or seams across the seat. A very long pew can also be split into two matched sections if that's easier to carry and store — your choice when you configure.

How thick and firm should a pew cushion be?+

For a long service, two to three inches of firm high-density foam stays comfortable without flattening under weekly use. Seat runners are cut firm; you set the exact thickness of each piece when you configure.

Will they stay put on polished wooden pews?+

Yes. Add a non-slip backing or fabric ties and the runner stays where you place it on smooth, varnished wood. Tell us your pew style and we'll suggest the right option.

Do my pews all need to be identical to order?+

No — that's the point of custom. Measure each pew and we cut every runner to its own length and depth, which matters in older churches where no two rows are quite the same. Order one pew or the whole sanctuary through the same configurator and checkout.
