What does "high density" actually mean?
Density is the weight of foam per cubic foot — higher density packs in more material, giving firmer support and much longer life. It's a separate measure from firmness, so high-density foam feels supportive without being uncomfortably hard.
Is high-density foam too firm to be comfortable?
No. It gives a firm, supportive sit that most people find far more comfortable over long periods than soft foam that bottoms out. For a plusher feel we can add a soft topper or fiber wrap — options in the customizer.
How thick should a high-density seat cushion be?
For sofa and bench seating, 3–4″ is the sweet spot; deep lounge seating goes to 5–6″, and slim window seats often use 2–3″. You set the exact thickness when you customize.
Can I use high-density foam outdoors?
It's best for indoor and covered areas because it absorbs water. For uncovered patios and boats, choose our dry-fast open-cell foam instead so cushions drain and dry.
