How do I measure my storage bench lid so the fit is right?
Measure the length and depth of the lid top, and decide the thickness. If the lid has a raised lip or trim, measure the flat inner area the cushion should sit on. Every cushion is cut to ±1 cm — send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm before making it.
How thick should a storage bench cushion be?
2–3″ of high-density foam is ideal: firm enough to sit on comfortably, yet slim enough that the lid still opens fully — important when the bench sits against a wall. You set the exact thickness when you customize.
Will the cushion get in the way when I open the lid?
No. Add ties on the hinge side so the cushion lifts up with the lid, or leave it loose to set aside. Keeping the thickness to 2–3″ also stops the lid catching on the wall behind.
