THE COLLECTION

Hand-stitched for the corner that hosts dinner.

Choose a starting shape — every cushion is cut to your measurements.

WHY FOAMERA FOR BANQUETTES

Built for the corner that gathers people.

Patterned to your built-in, finished for life at the table.

L & U shapes

Kitchen nooks, breakfast banquettes, dining booths — we pattern around inside corners with mitred or rounded joints.

Pattern alignment across cushions

Stripes and prints align across every seat segment, so the eye reads one continuous bench — not three or four separate ones.

Removable washable covers

Hidden zippers on every segment — covers slip off for a deep wash, foam stays in. Soup-, wine-, child-friendly.

Commercial-grade upgrade

Restaurants, cafés, hotels: 60,000+ Martindale fabrics, fire-retardant foam options, contract-grade construction.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Banquette cushions, answered.

The questions designers and owners ask us most. Anything else, the atelier is one message away.

  • How do you handle inside-corner cuts on an L or U banquette?

Two ways depending on the look you want: a mitred corner (where the two cushion segments meet at a 45-degree angle, like a picture frame), or a butted corner (where one segment runs to the wall and the second butts against it). Mitred reads more designed, butted reads more tailored. Both stitch up cleanly. Send a top-down sketch with corner radius noted (sharp 90, soft 1" radius, etc.) and we'll pattern accordingly.

  • What's the right cushion height for a booth or banquette?

Standard table height is 30". Banquette seat height should land 18"–19" from the floor (same as a dining chair) so people sit at the right relation to the table. Cushion thickness affects this: a 4" plush cushion on a 14" wood platform = 18". A 3" cushion on 15" platform also works. Send your platform height and we'll size the cushion to land you at the right table height.

  • What foam density is right for restaurant or commercial use?

For restaurants and high-traffic cafés we use 2.0lb-density commercial-grade foam, which holds shape for years of daily sitting. For residential banquettes 1.8lb is fine. Optional: California TB117-2013 fire-retardant rating — required by some commercial codes, available on request. Tell us residential or commercial and we'll spec accordingly.

  • What about stain-resistant fabrics for daily dining?

For banquettes that double as dinner seats, performance fabrics are essential. Crypton, Sunbrella Renaissance, Revolution and Inside Out lines all repel water-based and oil-based stains, and most spills wipe off with a damp cloth. They look like linen or chenille but wear like canvas. We'll bias the swatch selection toward stain-resistant options when you mention dining use.

  • Can you replace cushions on an existing banquette built years ago?

Yes — and it's one of our most rewarding jobs. Send dimensions of each platform segment (width, depth, corner radius), photograph the existing cushions if they're still in place, and tell us the original fabric or send a swatch if you have one. We'll pattern new cushions to fit the existing build exactly. Old foam can be discarded; new cushions are drop-in replacements.

  • What's the lead time for a restaurant or hospitality order?

Standard residential banquettes: 10–18 business days. Hospitality projects (multiple booths, larger volumes) typically run 20–30 business days from approved measurements, depending on size and fabric availability. Rush production is available — message the atelier with your opening date and we'll do everything we can.
