WHY FOAMERA FOR CHAISES
Cut to the recline, finished for the sun.
One full-length cushion for fixed-recline chaises, or a hinged two-piece for chaises whose backs adjust.
Fixed-curve chaises (S-curve, classic recline) get cushions cut to follow the contour exactly — no gapping at the bend.
Reticulated open-cell core lets sunscreen-soaked water pass straight through. Dry in an hour, no mildew.
Solar-grade Tenara thread doesn't degrade in sunlight — your seams outlast the fabric, which outlasts five summers.
Five steps, no surprises, one cushion at a time.
Browse 22 shapes or send a sketch — round, L-shape, custom corners, anything.

GOOD QUESTIONS
The questions chaise owners ask us most. Anything else, the atelier is one message away.
Look at your chaise frame. If the back portion lifts and lowers (typical of poolside loungers, multi-position chaises), you need a hinged 2-piece cushion — split where the frame splits, joined by a fabric hinge so it folds with the chair. If the recline is fixed (a contoured S-curve garden chaise, an indoor velvet daybed-style chaise), one continuous cushion gives a cleaner look. Send a side photo and we'll advise.
Solution-dyed performance weaves only — Sunbrella Marine, Outdura, Sunbrella Renaissance. Pool chemicals (chlorine, bromine), sunscreen, and constant UV would destroy a normal outdoor fabric within a season. Solution-dyed fabrics carry the colour through the fibre, not on top, so chlorine bleach and 5+ years of full sun won't fade them. We have over 100 colours in pool-grade weaves.
3" is the most common — supportive enough for an afternoon nap, slim enough not to overwhelm the chaise frame. 2" reads more contemporary and lower-profile. 4" with a feather wrap turns the chaise into something close to a daybed (good for indoor chaises in bedrooms or libraries). For poolside, stick to 3" of quick-dry foam — heavier cushions take longer to dry.
If your chaise has a manual or motorised recline, the cushion needs to flex at the hinge point without bunching. Our hinged 2-piece cushions are sewn so the seam aligns with the chair's hinge, and the casing has enough give to fold without strain. Tell us the hinge location (measured from the foot end) and the maximum recline angle so we can pattern accordingly.
For chaises ordered as outdoor or poolside, quick-dry reticulated foam is standard — it's the only foam that survives constant moisture exposure without breaking down or growing mildew. For indoor chaises (a velvet chaise in a bedroom, for example) we use high-density closed-cell foam, which is more comfortable and supportive. Tell us where the chaise lives and we'll pair the right core.
Yes — brand-frame replacements are one of our specialities. Send us the chaise model name if you know it (we have patterns for many common ones on file), or simply measure: length nose-to-nose along the curve, width at the widest point, and thickness of the original cushion. Photograph the original cushion shape from above. We pattern from your details — typically saving 30–50% versus the OEM replacement programme.
