How to fix sagging couch cushions
The only permanent way to fix sagging couch cushions is to replace the worn-out foam inside them with new high-density foam cut to your exact size. Fluffing, rotating and adding batting help for a while, but once foam has lost its resilience it won't bounce back — a fresh high-density core makes flat cushions firm again for years.

Fixing sagging cushions — answered
What is the best foam to fix sagging couch cushions?
High-density polyurethane foam — around 1.8–2.5 lb density for seating — is the best choice. It stays firm and resists sagging for years. For a softer top, wrap the high-density core in polyester fiber. See our best couch cushion foam guide.
Can I just add stuffing instead of replacing the foam?
Adding fiber batting on top of dead foam feels better briefly, but the collapsed core still won't support you, so it re-flattens fast. Replacing the foam is the only lasting fix.
Do I have to buy a whole new cushion?
No. In most cases your covers are fine — you only need new foam inserts cut to the cover's size. That's far less than reupholstering or buying a new sofa.
How do I measure for replacement foam?
Lay the empty cover flat and measure its width, depth and thickness. Order foam cut to those exact numbers, slightly oversized to fill corners. Unsure? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the size before we cut.
How long will new high-density foam last?
Quality high-density foam typically keeps its shape for 7–10+ years of normal use — much longer than the low-density foam most sofas ship with.
