How to Measure a Round Cushion
To measure a round cushion, run a tape across the centre at the widest point to get the diameter, then measure the thickness you want. For a papasan, measure the inside diameter of the bowl frame, not the old worn cushion. That single diameter plus thickness is all we need to hand-cut the round foam to size.

Round cushions — answered
Do I measure the diameter or the radius?
Measure the full diameter — the straight distance all the way across the circle through the centre, edge to edge. You don't need the radius or circumference; diameter plus thickness is all we use to cut your round cushion.
How do I measure a papasan cushion?
Measure the inside diameter of the papasan frame across the middle, and choose your thickness (4–6 inches is typical). Measure the frame rather than the old cushion, which has usually compressed and shrunk over time.
My round seat isn't a perfect circle — what do I do?
Measure the widest point and then again at 90 degrees. If the two numbers differ by more than about half an inch, it's an oval — send us both measurements and we'll cut an oval cushion instead of a circle.
How much smaller than the seat should the cushion be?
For chair pads and stools, cut it about half an inch inside the seat edge so it sits neatly without overhanging. For a papasan you want it to fill the bowl, so match the inside frame diameter.
Can you make any diameter, and how long does it take?
Yes. Enter any diameter in inches or centimeters, pick your thickness and fabric, and we hand-cut the round foam to size. It ships worldwide with free tracked delivery, with the lead time shown at checkout, backed by a 14-day perfect-fit guarantee.
